Vatican City Prepares for 2025 Jubilee

The Vatican is gearing up for a significant milestone in preparation for the 2025 Jubilee, a once-in-a-quarter-century event that is anticipated to attract around 32 million pilgrims to Rome. The official decree establishing the Holy Year is set to be promulgated, marking the beginning of months of preparations and public works projects.

Papal Bull Ceremony

Pope Francis is scheduled to preside over a ceremony at St. Peter’s Basilica for the formal reading of the papal bull, which outlines the spiritual theme of hope for the upcoming year. This event will also signal the start of the final seven-month sprint to complete all necessary arrangements by December 24.

Inauguration of the Jubilee

The climax of the preparations will be on December 24 when Pope Francis will open the Holy Door of the basilica and officially inaugurate the Jubilee. This symbolic act will mark the beginning of a period of spiritual significance and celebration for the Catholic community.
