More Filipino athletes are expected to join para swimmers Ernie Gawilan and Angel Otom, and para taekwondo jin Allain Ganapin in the Paris Paralympics roster.
Philippine Paralympic Committee’s Goal
After three Filipino para athletes secured their spots in the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris, the Philippine Paralympic Committee (PPC) aims to have about seven more athletes qualify for the event.
Expansion of the Team
PPC head Mike Barredo is optimistic about surpassing the six-athlete roster sent to the Tokyo Paralympics in 2021. The committee is targeting additional qualifiers in para athletics, swimming, and potentially archery or para powerlifting.
