Singer-songwriter Linying has unveiled her latest single “Happiness,” marking the final preview of her upcoming EP “House Mouse,” now available through Nettwerk. The track is accompanied by a visually captivating video directed by Michelle Mei, shot in the picturesque setting of Siargao, Philippines.
Inspiration Behind the Song
In a recent interview with Music Geek, Linying shared insights into the genesis of “Happiness,” revealing, “The genesis of the song coincided with my discovery of surfing, which has profoundly influenced my personal philosophy and creative approach.” She further explained, “I had my first surfing experience during a trip to Siargao while collaborating with Nadine Lustre, a talented Filipina artist based in the region. Michelle Mei, the director of the music video, was also present during this trip, capturing the entire recording process.”
