Rescue Efforts for Beached Whales in Western Australia

Over 100 long-finned pilot whales that beached on the western Australian coast have been successfully returned to the sea, with the help of dedicated volunteers and researchers.

Rescue Operation Led by Whale Researcher

Whale researcher Ian Wiese, along with hundreds of volunteers, worked tirelessly to rescue the stranded whales at Toby’s Inlet, located near the popular tourist town of Dunsborough.

Tragic Loss of Whales

Despite the rescue efforts, 31 whales tragically lost their lives on the shore.
