A curious cat named Galena from Utah embarked on an unexpected adventure when she sneaked into an open box and was unknowingly shipped across the United States to an Amazon warehouse.
The Disappearance and Discovery
Carrie Clark, Galena’s owner, reported her missing on April 10, triggering a frantic search effort that involved putting up “missing” posters in the neighborhood. A week later, a veterinarian in Los Angeles contacted Clark to inform her that Galena had been found in a box at an Amazon center, nestled among pairs of boots.
The Reunion
Overjoyed by the news, Clark and her husband rushed to Los Angeles, where they were reunited with Galena, thanks to the kind actions of Amazon employee Brandy Hunter. Despite being a bit hungry and thirsty after spending six days in a cardboard box, Galena was unharmed.
“I could tell she belonged to someone by the way she was behaving,” said Hunter, who took Galena home and had her checked for a microchip the next day, ensuring her safe return to her relieved owners.
