China’s Lunar Exploration Program
China is set to launch a probe to collect samples from the far side of the Moon as part of its ambitious lunar exploration program. This mission is a significant step towards Beijing’s goal of sending a crewed lunar mission by 2030.
Details of the Mission
- The Chang’e-6 lunar probe will be carried by a rocket scheduled to launch from the Wenchang Space Launch Center in southern China’s Hainan province.
- The launch is expected to take place just before 5:30 p.m., according to officials.
