Ricardo Ratliffe Retires from Korean National Team: The End of an Era

Ricardo Ratliffe Retires from South Korean National Team

American-born Ricardo Ratliffe recently announced his retirement from the South Korean national basketball team, marking the end of a successful six-year tenure as a naturalized player.

Final Game and Gratitude

Ratliffe’s final game for South Korea was a memorable one, as he led the team to a convincing 96-62 victory over Thailand in the FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers. In a heartfelt message on Instagram, Ratliffe expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to represent the country internationally.

Impressive Achievements

During his time with the South Korean team, Ratliffe made significant contributions and achieved notable milestones. He played a key role in helping Korea secure bronze medals in the 2018 Asian Games and 2018 Williams Jones Cup. Additionally, he showcased his skills on the world stage during the 2019 FIBA World Cup, where he emerged as the tournament leader in scoring and rebounding.

Continued Career

While Ratliffe bids farewell to the national team, he will continue his basketball career with the Busan KCC Egis in the Korean Basketball League. Despite his impending free agency at the end of the season, Ratliffe remains grateful for the opportunities he has had and looks forward to what the future holds.

“Ra Guna out,” concluded Ratliffe, as he closes this chapter of his basketball journey.
