The injury occurred while defending against the Wizards’ Jordan Poole in the second quarter. Westbrook, a nine-time All-Star and the 2016-2017 MVP, played 10 minutes in the first half, scoring 6 points.
Recovery Timeline
There is no set timetable for Westbrook’s return to the court. Coach Tyronn Lue expressed concern for Westbrook’s injury, stating, “Just feel bad for Russ. You never want to see a player get hurt.” The team is awaiting further evaluation to determine if surgery is required.
