Kiefer Ravena and the Shiga Lakes have secured a spot in the top division of the Japan B. League after clinching the B2 title with a 2-0 series sweep against the Koshigaya Alphas.
Redemption Tour
After facing relegation to the second division earlier in the season, Ravena and the Lakes not only earned a promotion back to B1 but also emerged victorious in the B2 finals showdown. Key Performances
Ravena’s stellar performance in the series opener, where he contributed 12 of his 16 points in the crucial fourth quarter and overtime, set the tone for the Lakes’ success. Despite a late turnover that almost cost his team the game, Ravena’s overall impact was undeniable.
Supported by Australian import Brock Motum in the first game, the Lakes relied on American player Justin Burrell in Game 2, with Burrell delivering a game-high 25 points to secure the championship.
Looking Ahead
Ravena’s impressive postseason run, averaging 19 points, 3 rebounds, 5.9 assists, and 1.6 steals in seven playoff games, sets the stage for his return to the top division alongside his brother Thirdy and other Filipino stars.
Meanwhile, in B1 action, Ray Parks bounced back from a quiet outing to help the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins force a decisive Game 3 against the Hiroshima Dragonflies.
With Parks contributing 14 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal in Game 2, the Dolphins are poised for an exciting showdown in the semifinals.
