Scarlett Johansson Reacts to OpenAI Synthetic Voice

Movie star Scarlett Johansson expressed her surprise on Monday upon hearing an OpenAI synthetic voice that closely resembles her own. The AI voice, named “Sky” by the artificial intelligence company led by Sam Altman, was released after Johansson declined to collaborate with the ChatGPT-maker on a similar project.

Impressions of the Synthetic Voice

Johansson described her reaction to the voice as “shocking,” highlighting the uncanny resemblance to her own voice.

OpenAI’s Response

Following Johansson’s feedback, OpenAI announced that they are working on temporarily muting the “Sky” voice to address the concerns raised by the actress.
