Malaysia’s Prime Minister Supports Iran’s Attack on Israel
Malaysia’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim expressed his support for Iran’s recent missile and drone attack on Israel, stating that it was a “legitimate” act. The attack, which took place over the weekend, saw Iran launching more than 300 drones and missiles towards Israel, with the Israeli military claiming that most of them were intercepted.
Anwar’s Statement
Anwar condemned the Israeli Zionist regime for its alleged attack on the Iranian embassy in Damascus, citing it as the reason behind Iran’s retaliatory actions. He called on Israel to refrain from further escalating tensions in the Middle East.
Malaysia’s Stance
During a meeting of Malaysia’s National Security Council, Anwar discussed the escalating tensions in the region and defended Malaysia’s relationship with the Iran-backed Palestinian militant group Hamas. He clarified that Malaysia’s ties were with Hamas’ political wing and not its military arm.
Anwar’s support for Iran’s actions comes in the wake of the deadly strike on Tehran’s consulate in Damascus, which resulted in the death of seven Revolutionary Guards, including two generals.
