Dave Apolinario Secures Victory in Tokyo

Dave Apolinario celebrated a remarkable victory in Tokyo, Japan, by defeating Thai boxer Tanes Ongjunta at the Korakuen Hall. This win extended Apolinario’s undefeated streak to 20 matches and positioned him for a potential world title opportunity this year.

Apolinario’s Triumph

Despite facing a third-round knockdown, Apolinario showcased resilience and skill by ultimately knocking out Ongjunta in the fourth round. The fight took a dramatic turn when Apolinario was caught off guard by a counter right from Ongjunta, resulting in a momentary setback for the Maasim, Sarangani native.

After regaining his composure, Apolinario retaliated with precision, dropping Ongjunta with a powerful left straight. Although Ongjunta managed to beat the count, Apolinario’s determination and agility led to another knockdown with a right uppercut, sealing his victory.

Sanman Boxing head JC Manangquil expressed confidence in Apolinario’s potential for a world title fight within the upcoming year. With this impressive performance, Apolinario’s team is actively working towards securing a title shot in one of boxing’s major sanctioning bodies.
