Bea Alonzo Sues Two Writers for Cyber Libel

Actress Bea Alonzo Takes Legal Action Against Showbiz Personalities

MANILA, Philippines: Actress Bea Alonzo has taken legal action against prominent showbiz columnists and online hosts Cristy Fermin and Ogie Diaz, along with their co-hosts in their respective online programs. This action comes in the form of three separate criminal cases for cyber libel filed at the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.

Allegations and Legal Proceedings

In an Instagram post by “24 Oras” showbiz reporter Nelson Canlas, Alonzo was shown being sworn in as she lodged her cases against Fermin, Diaz, and several others. Alonzo also lodged a complaint against an online basher who pretended to be a confidant to the showbiz personalities.

In a detailed complaint affidavit, Alonzo alleges being victimized by a barrage of false, malicious, and damaging information purportedly originating from the individual, which subsequently found its way into publications and discussions on Fermin and Diaz’s online platforms.

Support and Legal Team

Accompanying Alonzo in this legal pursuit are her legal counsel, Atty. Joey Garcia, and manager, Shirley Kuan.

Background and Relationship Status

It was on February 11 when Alonzo and Dominic Roque officially announced the end of their engagement following reports from Ogie Diaz and Boy Abunda. During an episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” the talk show host shared that the couple was still “trying to understand each other but are going through a rough patch.” The actor proposed to Alonzo on July 18, 2023 after being in a relationship since 2021.
