Rising Actor Beaver Magtalas Excited About Movie Premiere
Rising actor Beaver Magtalas is thrilled about the positive reception of his debut movie, “When Magic Hurts,” during its provincial premiere in Cabanatuan last Sunday, May 12. The special screening was a significant moment for Magtalas and the local community.
Special Premiere in Cabanatuan
Several weeks after the grand premiere at SM The Block, Magtalas requested a special screening in Cabanatuan, his hometown in Nueva Ecija. He expressed his happiness at the opportunity to showcase his movie to his fellow Nueva Ecijanos, friends, and family without the need to travel to Manila.
Enthusiastic Reception
Thousands of provincemates attended the premiere night, held simultaneously in three theaters at NE Pacific Mall. Magtalas, accompanied by his leading ladies, Mutya Orquia and Maxine Trinidad, received loud cheers and overwhelming support from the audience.
Heartwarming Support
The immense support from the local community was heartwarming for the cast. Orquia mentioned the intense love for Magtalas in Nueva Ecija and how the fans have started calling him “Ernest,” his character’s name in the movie.

Movie Synopsis
“When Magic Hurts” narrates the story of Ernest, a privileged yet humble boy who returns to his mountain home after schooling abroad. There, he meets Olivia, a hardworking flower farm hand portrayed by Orquia. Despite his growing affection for Olivia, Ernest faces familial expectations as he is set to marry the daughter of a family friend, played by Trinidad.
