Carlos Alcaraz Reflects on Defeat by Grigor Dimitrov at Miami Open

Tennis world No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz expressed his frustrations after a tough loss to Bulgarian veteran Grigor Dimitrov in the Miami Open quarterfinals. Alcaraz, coming off a victory at Indian Wells, was unable to secure a win against Dimitrov, ending his hopes of achieving the Sunshine Double.

Alcaraz’s Response

Alcaraz admitted that Dimitrov played exceptional tennis and he struggled to find a way to counter his opponent’s game. Despite feeling like he played well, Alcaraz acknowledged his shortcomings and expressed his determination to improve for future matches against Dimitrov.

Looking Ahead

Alcaraz mentioned his plans to adjust his game strategy for future encounters with Dimitrov, aiming to enhance his chances of success. He recognized the need to adapt and evolve in order to overcome his opponent in their next meeting.

Dimitrov’s Perspective

On the other hand, Dimitrov emphasized the importance of staying focused on the present moment and simplifying his approach to the game. He highlighted the mental aspect of tennis and the challenge of maintaining a clear mindset in every match.

Dimitrov’s victory over Alcaraz propels him into the semi-finals, where he will face Alexander Zverev with the opportunity to break into the top 10 rankings. Both players are determined to stay committed to their game plans and continue striving for success in the tournament.
