Ginebra’s Plan to Strengthen Roster Amid Injuries: Targeting David Murrell and Other Players

Ginebra’s Strategy to Strengthen Wing Rotation

Barangay Ginebra is actively seeking ways to reinforce its wing rotation in the PBA Philippine Cup following Jamie Malonzo’s calf injury, which has added to the team’s challenges at the small forward position.

Targeting David Murrell and Other Players

Head coach Tim Cone revealed that Ginebra has set its sights on acquiring David Murrell and exploring other available players to address the current personnel gaps. Malonzo’s injury, along with the absence of Jeremiah Gray and Aljon Mariano due to injuries, has prompted the team to seek external assistance.

Exploring Options Beyond the Lineup

Cone mentioned that they have already expressed interest in David Murrell, who was made an unrestricted free agent by Magnolia, opening up opportunities for other teams to sign him. Additionally, Ginebra is scouting talents from the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) to bolster their roster.

Striving for Solutions

With a guaranteed spot in the quarterfinals and a 6-3 record, Ginebra aims to finalize a deal before their upcoming game against Converge. Cone emphasized the importance of identifying team weaknesses and taking proactive steps to address them.

Future Plans and Collaboration

While dispelling rumors of imminent trades or discussions with other teams, Cone highlighted the upcoming week as crucial for Ginebra’s strategic decisions and potential player acquisitions.
