Football Victory for Filipinas San Carlos U-12 Team
These 11-year-old Negros football players pulled off a surprise in the international stage, winning the 2024 Real Madrid Foundation Clinics World Challenge in Spain. Led by team stars Klent Paul Montilla and Felex Rey Caballero, the Filipinas San Carlos U-12 Team showed their skills and determination.
Championship Win in Spain
The young San Carlos booters fought hard in the Spain football tournament, winning six out of seven games. In the championship match, they dominated with a 3-0 victory over USA-Blue, with Montilla and Caballero shining on the field.
Players’ Determination
Coach Francis Roy Barcuma praised his players for their hunger and determination to succeed. Coming from low-income families, these young athletes aspire for a better future through football. Their hard work and passion were evident throughout the tournament.
Celebrating Success
Rounding out the champion team are Charles Adam Dignos, Twirl Gelito, Christian Paul Limpio, Mark Ross Mabesa, Dhroy Miguel, Mathew Jacob Pamilar, Franz Mekael Jhay Salvador, John Jacob Sildura, Ivan Dio Silvar, and Frenchzuef Machryl Subrado. The local government celebrated their victory with a morning caravan in San Carlos City.

The city’s mayor expressed pride in the young champions and highlighted the programs in place to support their growth in football. With initiatives like the San Carlos City Negros Football Club (SCCNFC) and Sining at Pag-asa (SIPA), these talented players have a bright future ahead.
