A home-court advantage wasn’t enough for Team Negros as Team Iloilo secured victory with an impressive performance across various sports categories.
Medal Tally
- Iloilo: 103 gold, 76 silver, 64 bronze
- Negros Occidental: 88 gold, 86 silver, 73 bronze
The Ilonggo athletes showcased their prowess in athletics, swimming, wrestling, dancesport, and boys’ basketball, among other disciplines, clinching the title for the second consecutive year.
Despite the setback, Negros remains determined to reclaim the championship status from Iloilo in the upcoming tournaments.
Future Plans
Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson expressed disappointment over the defeat and pledged to assess Team Negros’ performance thoroughly. With the 2025 WVRAA Meet set to be hosted by Antique, Negros is gearing up to scout and train potential athletes extensively to regain their former glory.
