UE Lady Warriors Coach Jerry Yee Reacts to UAAP Season 86 Suspension
UE women’s volleyball head coach Jerry Yee has expressed his disappointment with the recent season-long suspension imposed by the UAAP. Yee believes the suspension was initiated by his former employer, Adamson.
Suspension Announcement
The UAAP made headlines on Sunday, March 3, when it announced the suspension of Jerry Yee for “acts inconsistent with the purposes of the UAAP.” The league’s Board of Trustees approved the suspension on February 29, following a complaint raised by a member school.
Yee’s Response
In response to the suspension, Jerry Yee stated that there was no ethical breach in his decision to accept the coaching job at UE. He emphasized that the decision to part ways with Adamson was mutual and that the backlash he received was unjust.
Temporary Replacement
During Yee’s suspension, assistant coach Dr. Obet Vital will take over coaching duties for the UE Lady Warriors. Yee has filed an appeal scheduled for Monday, March 4, in hopes of a favorable decision.
Continued Uncertainty
Yee expressed his frustration with the lack of due process in the UAAP’s decision and remains unsure of the specifics of his alleged offenses. He hopes for an opportunity to present his side of the story to the league.
