Mexico’s capital, along with its metropolitan area of over 20 million inhabitants, experienced a historical moment on Monday as thermometers soared to 34.2 degrees Celsius (93.6 Fahrenheit). The National Water Commission confirmed this new record, surpassing the previous high of 33.9 degrees Celsius set in 1998.
