‘Mini Miss UST’ secures fast UAAP Final Four return with youthful core

UST Tigresses: Shattering Expectations

With big-heart youngsters like Angge Poyos in tow, UST captain Detdet Pepito is nothing but proud as the underdog Tigresses shatter expectations on the way back to the UAAP Final Four.

Overcoming Doubts

Too small. No veterans. No star power. The UST Golden Tigresses have defied all odds in the UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball campaign. Despite initial skepticism, this young batch of Tigresses has proven their worth, securing a Final Four spot with a remarkable 9-1 record.

Key Players

Super freshman Angge Poyos led the charge with a rookie-record 31-point performance, showcasing the team’s resilience and determination. Libero captain Detdet Pepito, one of the few remaining veterans, commended the team’s commitment to the underdog winning culture.

Coach’s Perspective

Head coach Kungfu Reyes expressed surprise at the team’s success but attributed it to their hard work and dedication in practice. With four elimination round games left, the Tigresses are focused on securing the coveted twice-to-beat advantage and staying committed to their ultimate goal.

Looking Ahead

The journey is far from over, and the Tigresses remain determined to continue their winning streak. As they regroup, correct errors, and sharpen their skills, the team is unwavering in their pursuit of success.

The job is not finished, after all.
