Kassandra Abejero’s Volleyball Dream
Kassandra Abejero, a 17-year-old volleyball player from Siaton town, Negros Oriental province, is on a path towards her dream of playing in the professional league. Each game she plays brings her closer to this aspiration.
Abejero Shines at CVIRAA Meet
During the Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association (CVIRAA) meet in Cebu, Abejero was named the player of the game in their match against the Siquijor division team. She scored 14 points, leading her team to victory with a sweep of 25-14, 25-22.
Training and Dedication
Coach Madelfa Carillo mentioned the rigorous training regimen the team underwent to prepare for the CVIRAA meet. Abejero’s talent has been evident since a young age, inspiring even her younger sister to follow in her footsteps.
Future Aspirations
Abejero dreams of playing college volleyball for Ateneo de Manila University, inspired by her idol Alyssa Valdez. Currently pursuing the Technical Vocational Livelihood (TVL) strand at Sumaliring High School, Abejero remains focused on her goals.
Upcoming Challenges
The team’s next game against Dumaguete poses a tough challenge, but Coach Carillo is confident in her athletes’ abilities to excel. Abejero remains steadfast in her belief that her journey to the professional leagues will happen in God’s due time.
