Significant Reduction in Malaria Cases and Deaths
A new type of mosquito net distributed across sub-Saharan Africa has had a remarkable impact on malaria prevention. The project’s supporters announced that over a span of three years, an estimated 13 million malaria cases and nearly 25,000 deaths were averted as a result of this initiative.
Malaria Statistics in 2022
According to the World Health Organization’s latest data, there were 249 million reported cases of malaria and 608,000 deaths in 2022. The majority of these cases and deaths occurred in Africa, highlighting the urgent need for effective prevention strategies.
