North Caledonia Airport Continues to Be Closed

New Caledonia International Airport Closure Update

The New Caledonia international airport in the capital city of Noumea will remain closed to commercial flights until at least 9 a.m. on Tuesday, as confirmed by Charles Roger, director of the airport’s operating body.

Reason for Extended Closure

The closure extension comes in response to the recent deadly rioting that erupted in the French Pacific territory, leading to the initial halt of flights on May 15.

Impact on Travel

With the closure now set to last nearly two weeks, travelers are advised to make alternative arrangements and stay updated on further developments.
