Ingemar Macarine Sets Record with Endurance Swim in Roxas City
Bohol prosecutor and endurance swimmer Ingemar Macarine, also known as the “Pinoy Aquaman,” achieved another milestone by completing a challenging swim from Olotayan Island to mainland Roxas City. This feat marked him as the first endurance swimmer to accomplish this journey, covering over 10 kilometers of open water unassisted.
Triumphant Journey
Starting his swim from Olotayan Island, Macarine reached the People’s Park in Barangay Baybay, Roxas City in Capiz province after three hours and 15 minutes of relentless effort. Despite aiming for a 10-kilometer distance, he exceeded expectations by swimming a total of 10.8 km, citing favorable conditions such as currents, tides, and wind that propelled his speed.
Prepared both physically and mentally, Macarine recited biblical passages before his swim and diligently trained for months with rigorous routines, balancing his demanding role as a prosecutor in the Department of Justice.
Future Aspirations
Macarine’s relentless spirit drives him towards his next goal of a 10-kilometer swim from Canada to the United States scheduled for this July. This ambitious endeavor showcases his determination and passion for pushing boundaries in the world of endurance swimming.
