Prabowo Subianto Elected President of Indonesia

Indonesia’s Prabowo Subianto has won the presidential election, becoming the leader of the world’s third-largest democracy. The country’s election commission announced the victory on Wednesday, with Prabowo defeating two rivals who plan to challenge the results legally.

Victory Declaration

The fiery defense chief, Prabowo Subianto, and his running mate Gibran Rakabuming Raka, the eldest son of outgoing President Joko Widodo, claimed victory last month following unofficial counts that indicated their majority win.
