FEU Tamaraws Bring in Legendary PBA Import Sean Chambers
The FEU Tamaraws have enlisted the expertise of one of the most celebrated imports in PBA history, Sean Chambers, with the aim of revitalizing the program and returning it to its former glory.
Sean Chambers’ Appointment
FEU announced on Monday, March 18, that Sean Chambers, a legendary Alaska import, will be taking over as the head coach of the Tamaraws, succeeding former head coach Denok Miranda. Chambers expressed his gratitude and excitement for the opportunity to lead the team and work towards re-establishing a winning culture at FEU.
Chambers’ Legacy
Sean Chambers’ successful tenure with the Alaska Aces, where he won six championships between 1989 and 2001, including a Grand Slam in 1996, has made him a highly respected figure in Philippine basketball. With his wealth of experience, Chambers aims to help FEU reclaim its former dominance in the UAAP.
FEU, with 20 UAAP titles to its name, seeks to bounce back from recent setbacks, including two seasons without reaching the Final Four. Chambers’ leadership is expected to inspire the team to strive for excellence both on and off the court.
Chambers’ Vision
Sean Chambers expressed his belief in the potential of Philippine collegiate basketball and the opportunity to mentor young players in realizing their full capabilities. His appointment signals a new chapter for FEU basketball, with a focus on growth, development, and success.
Denok Miranda will continue to play a vital role at FEU, overseeing the basketball program from junior high school to the collegiate level, ensuring a seamless transition and continued progress for the Tamaraws.
