Sibling Success in Japan B. League
Brothers Kiefer and Thirdy Ravena both achieved significant milestones in the Japan B. League on Saturday, April 6.
Thirdy Ravena’s Playoff Advancement
Thirdy’s team, San-En NeoPhoenix, secured a playoff spot in B1 after a convincing 96-79 victory over the Osaka Evessa. This marks Thirdy’s first playoff appearance since joining the NeoPhoenix in the 2020-2021 season as the first Filipino import in the B. League. He contributed 6 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists to help San-En improve its Central Conference-best record to 39-10.
Kiefer Ravena and the Shiga Lakes
On the same day, Kiefer Ravena and the Shiga Lakes clinched the Western Conference title in B2 with a 90-78 win against the Rizing Zephyr Fukuoka. Kiefer’s performance included 13 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals as Shiga reached a 41-15 record with only four games left before the playoffs. The Lakes were relegated to Division 2 this season after finishing second to last in Division 1 last year with a 14-46 record.
A finals appearance in B2 will elevate Shiga back to B1 next season, setting the stage for potential matchups between Kiefer and his younger brother Thirdy, as well as other Filipino star imports like Kai Sotto and Dwight Ramos.
