The UST Golden Tigresses are gearing up for a crucial Game 2 in the UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball finals against NU. The team faces a challenge as MVP candidate Angge Poyos’ availability remains uncertain following a serious ankle injury.

Team Captain’s Assurance

Team captain Detdet Pepito reassured fans that the team will be ready for the upcoming match despite the setback of losing Angge Poyos to injury. Pepito emphasized the need for the team to adapt and perform at their best regardless of Poyos’ status.

Poyos’ Injury

Angge Poyos suffered a significant ankle injury during the game, leading to her being carried out of the venue for medical attention. The team’s physical therapists immediately attended to her, and precautions were taken to prevent further damage.

Coach’s Strategy

Coach Kung Fu Reyes is looking towards other players to step up in Poyos’ absence. Players like Jonna Perdido, Xyza Gula, and Pierre Abellana are expected to play crucial roles in the upcoming match.

Despite the challenges, team captain Pepito expressed confidence in the team’s ability to bounce back and prepare for Game 2. The team is focused on regrouping and learning from the previous match to come back stronger.

It’s a test of resilience for the UST Golden Tigresses as they face NU in a must-win Game 2 of the UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball finals.
