The UST Golden Tigresses achieved their best start in the Final Four era by sweeping the first round of the UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball tournament. Overcoming challenges both on and off the court, the Tigresses displayed exceptional teamwork and determination.

Overcoming Adversity

Despite facing a tough academic week with preliminary exams, the Tigresses managed to secure a 25-18, 22-25, 25-15, 28-26 victory against the Adamson Lady Falcons. Head coach Kungfu Reyes praised the team’s collective effort and resilience in the face of adversity.

Key Players

Rookie sensation Angge Poyos led the charge with 18 points, including crucial plays in the final moments of the game. Jonna Perdido and Regina Jurado also delivered standout performances, supported by Cassie Carballo’s excellent sets and contributions.

Looking Ahead

Despite their perfect start, UST remains focused on continuous improvement as they prepare to face strong opponents like the defending champion La Salle Lady Spikers and the NU Lady Bulldogs.
