After a decade-long legal battle, actor and TV host Vhong Navarro finally saw justice served as businessman Cedric Lee, model Deniece Cornejo, and two others were found guilty beyond reasonable doubt for the serious illegal detention case filed against them.

Court Decision and Sentencing
In a 94-page decision, the Taguig RTC Branch 153, presided over by Judge Mariam Guzon Bien, found Lee, Cornejo, Ferdinand Guerrero, and Simeon Raz guilty of serious illegal detention for ransom under Article 267 of the Revised Penal Code. They were sentenced to reclusion perpetua, up to 40 years imprisonment, and their bail bond was canceled.
The court noted that the accused had planned and premeditated the crime to extort money from Navarro. Their guilt was evident from their actions before, during, and after the incident.
Cornejo and Raz were immediately committed by the court, while an arrest order was issued for Lee and Guerrero, who were not present during the sentencing.
Background of the Case
Navarro accused Lee of detaining him in a Taguig City condominium in 2014. Lee and his accomplices allegedly assaulted Navarro and demanded a ransom, leading to a legal battle that lasted for years.
Despite the challenges, Navarro’s legal team successfully argued against the allegations and disproved the claims made against him.
